The intended audience
Elected councillors
Reception policies can only be developed and
be successful
if the elected councillors (and especially the local councillors) become involved with the issues. It is the intention of the first university to provide full and expansive information for these councillors.
Development
technicians
The three days will provide these professionals with an opportunity to improve the development of the reception policies (experiences, migrant profiles, support tools and methods for those running the projects, developing settlement projects, and promotion strategies, etc.), whilst taking a more forward-looking approach to anticipate the measures that will need to be implemented.
The universities
The mobilization of specialist researchers to examine these themes ensures that discussions about this very forward-looking idea are more comprehensive.
The citizens
The event must – without being too orientated towards the general public – make the inhabitants aware of the issues relating to the reception policy and thereby contribute to opening up the regions and changing people's mentalities. After all, they are the first to welcome the new arrivals!
